1. Service Description
CareerAIlign is an AI-powered career optimization platform that provides:
- Resume Analysis: ATS compatibility scoring, keyword gap analysis, and actionable improvement suggestions
- LinkedIn Optimizer: Profile scoring and personalized improvement recommendations
- Cover Letter Generator: AI-tailored cover letters based on your resume and target job description
- Resume Builder: Build an ATS-optimized resume from scratch with AI assistance
- Full Package: Combined resume optimization plus tailored cover letter in one analysis
- Job Application Tracker: Automatically tracks applications using email inbox scanning
2. Account Registration
To access premium features, you must create an account by providing a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access at support@careerailign.com
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
3. Credit-Based Billing
How Credits Work
CareerAIlign operates on a pay-per-use model. You purchase credits and spend them on analyses:
- Credits are pre-purchased and deducted per analysis run
- There are no subscriptions, no monthly charges, and no auto-renewals
- Your credit balance never expires
- Some features (free resume scan, job tracker) are available without credits
Payments
- All payments are processed securely via Stripe
- Prices are shown in USD and include any applicable taxes
- Credits are added to your account immediately upon successful payment
Refunds
Credits are generally non-refundable once purchased. If you experience a technical error that incorrectly consumed credits (e.g., an analysis failed to complete), contact support@careerailign.com within 7 days and we will review and credit your account if the error is confirmed.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use CareerAIlign only for lawful purposes. You must NOT:
- Submit false, fabricated, or fraudulent resume content intended to misrepresent your qualifications to employers
- Use the Service to generate content for someone else's job applications without their knowledge and consent
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service in bulk through automated means
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying AI models or prompts
- Use the Service to harass, harm, or defame any individual or organization
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure, servers, or networks
- Share account credentials or resell access to the Service
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension without refund.
5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Important: CareerAIlign's AI-generated suggestions, scores, and content are provided as guidance tools only — not as guarantees of employment outcomes.
Specifically:
- Resume scores and ATS analysis are based on general patterns and may not reflect the exact criteria of any specific employer or applicant tracking system
- Cover letters generated by AI are starting points — review and personalize them before submitting
- LinkedIn scores are approximations based on publicly known ranking factors, not official LinkedIn metrics
- Following our recommendations does not guarantee interviews, job offers, or any specific hiring outcome
- AI can make mistakes — always review generated content before using it professionally
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of content you submit to employers. CareerAIlign is not liable for any employment decisions made based on our analysis.
6. Intellectual Property
Your Content
You retain ownership of all resumes, cover letters, and personal content you upload to CareerAIlign. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content to deliver the Service.
Our Content
The CareerAIlign platform, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform without written permission.
7. Privacy
Your use of CareerAIlign is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Email Account Connections
If you connect a Gmail or Outlook account to the job application tracker:
- You authorize us to read emails for the purpose of identifying and tracking job applications
- This authorization is revocable at any time via your account settings
- You represent that you own the email account you are connecting
9. Service Availability
We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:
- Perform maintenance (with reasonable advance notice where possible)
- Experience downtime due to third-party service outages beyond our control
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice
We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- CareerAIlign is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service
- Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not responsible for any employment decisions made by you or employers based on our analysis
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold CareerAIlign harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your submission of false or fraudulent content to employers.
12. Account Termination
Termination by You
You may close your account at any time by contacting support@careerailign.com. Unused credits are non-refundable upon voluntary account closure.
Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms of Service
- You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- Your account poses a security risk to the Service or other users
In cases of serious violations, we may terminate without notice. In other cases, we will provide reasonable notice where possible.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits against CareerAIlign.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
